ZURICH, Switzerland ----- I
once thought a broken heart was excruciatingly devastating, not until I came
face-to-face with a grief of a dead dream. There was nothing painful as letting
go what my heart has unceasingly desired for.
A
friend once told that eagles, once weak and sick, hide at far away cliffs and
caves. They take out their old and torn-out feathers, piece by piece, until they
become bald. They patiently wait until new feathers grow.
Once renewed and rejuvenated, they come out from their hiding place stronger
and much wiser.
Eagles
are wonder creatures to behold. They soar high towards the sun. They ride
stormy winds to propel them out. They stay focused and unperturbed. The sun is
their life goal. It makes them fulfilled, joyful and at peace.
God
likens us to eagles in Isaiah 40:31, “Those who trust in the Lord for help will
find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles. They will run
and not grow weary; they will walk and not grow weak.” Though
painfully difficult, I take a restful reprieve. Someday soon, I will soar high
again like an eagle.
